What is consious connected breathork

Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB) constitutes a specialised form of Pranayama Breath work that triggers the sympathetic nervous system, commonly associated with the fight-or-flight response. This method facilitates the exploration of tension and entrenched emotions stored within the body and nervous system due to past experiences and traumas. Many of our triggers, stressors, and repetitive life patterns often originate from these trapped emotions. The practice is designed to help disengage the analytical and active aspects of the mind, encouraging a shift into bodily awareness. The breath generates energy, allowing buried emotions to surface and be fully experienced and incorporated. The advantages of this approach encompass heightened resilience of the nervous system to potential stressors, the liberation of stored stress, trauma, and tension, as well as fostering a profound connection with oneself, others, and the tranquility inherent in being present.

What to expect

The session begins with a short intro to the theory underpinning the session. We will then move into a warm up movement practice focussing on warming up a diaphragm muscles, followed by a 20-minute breathwork session using conscious connected breathing. We will then move into a deep relaxing meditative practice before transitioning to the water.   We will conclude with a short ecstatic dance warm-up practice.

All abilities and experiences are welcome. This session is suitable for those new to cold water as this session does not include a  lengthy swim.
