EcstatiC MOVEMENT & swim

Consious dance

What to expect: Start the session with a swim . As the water starts to warm up and nights get lighter and days get longer, a swim is the perfect way to start or end the day.  All abilities welcome, and you will have the choice to swim or float as long as you wish!.  After your swim, join me in the Dome for Ecstatic movement

What is ecstatic movement:  Imagine if you could move exactly how your body wants to without the fear of people watching. Ecstatic dance is a form of free-form movement where there's no fixed choreography to follow. The essence of it lies in surrendering your body to the rhythm of the music, allowing yourself to move freely through space and entering a state of trance and ecstasy – hence the name. It's about being fully present in your body, experiencing the moment.

Fully immersing yourself in your body and moving uninhibitedly to the music brings you firmly into the present moment, reducing the release of cortisol, the stress hormone, and shifting you away from fight-or-flight responses toward feelings of bliss and contentment. This liberating experience allows you to release pent-up stress and worries.

In the midst of the dance, we disengage from the beta brain waves associated with everyday tasks and connect instead with theta brain waves, inducing a deeper, trance-like state. Typically found during sleep or deep meditation, theta waves are also stimulated during ecstatic dance.

IS ecstatic movement for you?

Anyone who enjoys movement and seeks to break free from the monotonous daily grind should give ecstatic dance a try and unleash their inner wild spirit. It has the potential to bring about a more joyful existence, particularly for those who struggle with traditional meditation due to restlessness. Furthermore, it fosters strong bonds and community cohesion, making it an excellent activity to engage in collectively.
